Vastine Arinaitwe

Vastine Arinaitwe - needs a sponsor

Arinaitwe, Vastine 16 years of age, is an orphan from the western part of Uganda, who lost her father some fifteen years back. Vastine says she never even had a chance to see her father. He was a police man who died in the war. Her mother has explained that his sad death left a very deep wound in her life which she says will never be recovered. Since his death, this family has lived in total poverty, though the mother has always tried to help where she can, but it has been a huge strangle so far.

Vastine completed her Senior Four (Uganda uses a British school system), and now she really needs $200 a semester to move on to the Advanced Level (Senior Five & Six) for two years and after that she looks forward to joining University.

Vastine was picked up by a merciful person who was on a mission trip in her village. This man saw how this orphan was suffering without education, spending her time working in a garden to get something to eat. He brought her to eastern Uganda, to one of the Girls' schools for a better education.

Unfortunately, this man was unable to continue supporting her. He only paid for registration fee and disappeared. He left this poor girl at school without even informing the school administration. Later, when the school needed the balance of the school fees paid, the man was no where to be found.

The school investigated and found out that the bank was also looking for him. He owed a lot of money so his home was sold including the land. Not only this, but the police had a warrant for his arrest.

The school communicated with Vastine's family about the need of the fees but the mother replied that she had no solution for fees.

So after one year, Vastine was sent home with a demand note for three terms fees. Now, Vastine is very worried about how the money will be paid before she gets access to her 0 Level certificate.

Vastine is a very brilliant girl. That’s why the school had been so patient, and let her sit for her examination, despite such a big debt.

Although she was born in poverty and grew up in it, her big dream now is to study, and help in community development.

How would you like to step in and help Vastine achieve her dream? The debt that must be caught up is 3 x $200, or $600.

Another $200 US per semester, (there are three in a school year) will allow her to go on to finish high school. After that, she will be watching for more miracles to get her through University. Just think what an asset she will be then to her poor community and family! But Vastine needs someone to believe in her and stick with her through the next few years. Would you take on this challenge?

Note: We are suggesting a bit more than $200 or $600 to cover the PayPal fees, etc., which RTM cannot afford at this time.

For a donation exactly $210 US.

In either case, we will send you a photo of this girl so you may pray for her. May God bless you for your generosity!
