Pamala Mugerwa Namuli

Pamela is 14 years old, and needs $200 per semester, to proceed with her secondary education. She is to enter senior Three in 2011. She passed all her entrance requirements with bright success.

This girl may be small but since her Senior One year, she has always been the best student.

Her school's principal was granting sponsorship to the very best students, and the school was fulfilling its promise. In Senior Two she still maintained her grade and her chances with the school's sponsorship program. But just as she finalized this year, 2010, the school changed its policy. It is no longer offering sponsorships to the best performer. It decided instead to give them gifts of appreciation for good performance. This shocked Pamela!

Pamela is a very obedient and hard working girl. Her mother left the family and the father married another wife who has always opposed her studies. Pamela said she completed Senior Two by the grace of God, some thing she says she was not expecting to happen because of the condition at home with the step mother.

Her father was laid off from his job after the government sold its project to the Kenyans and for this reason he is unable to raise school fees for his daughter. Her step mother's occupation does earn her good money, but it is reserved for other children - not Pamela.

Pamela is now a confused and worried girl. The school, which was giving her help, has given up. and Pamela's prayer now is that God would open a door (wide) for her studies.
